Personal life & work role

1. Tell us something about yourself and your role at Invenics?

I am a senior consultant at Invenics and work in the Product and Innovation Incentives service lines. After completing my BSc in Mathematics and Data Science from Davidson College, I started my career at Deloitte working in financial services as a tax compliance specialist and data analyst. Given my academic background and interest in disruptive technologies, I started my master’s programme in Artificial Intelligence from University of Liverpool in 2021. After several years at Deloitte, I joined Invenics in early 2022 to pursue my passion in the technology space.

2. Describe your typical day at Invenics.

My day-to-day work varies per week, but I generally spend most of my time as a technical lead in several development projects within the Firm, working with my colleagues based in the UK and India. In addition to my work as a technical lead, I work closely with the disruptive technology team, where we conduct proof-of-concepts and technical spikes on various technologies to gauge their feasibility for product development. Furthermore, I am an IT specialist in the Innovation Incentives service line and help conduct technical interviews with clients and write technical reports for the UK R&D claims.

3. How does Invenics help with your work life balance?

The work culture at Invenics is very conducive to a healthy work-life balance. Senior staff have always been supportive of my flexible working habits which has played a major role in my positive experience at the company.

Nature of work

1. Describe the kind of clients and/or teams (cross-functional or otherwise) do you work with?

Given the dual nature of my work, I primarily work with internal development teams within the Products space and small to large enterprises in the Innovation Incentives space. This variety has given me the opportunity to learn from talented individuals and provide me with a well-rounded technical experience.

2. What keeps you motivated and/or challenges you at Invenics?

The opportunity to work in an area I am passionate in alongside several of the greatest minds in the technology industry drives me at Invenics. There never seems to be a dull moment in my work as there is always something to learn and do.

Career development aspects

1. What opportunities do you get here at Invenics for a brighter and better career?

The opportunity to work across the Innovation Incentives and Products space provides me with a well-rounded technical experience that is unique at this company. Instead of specialising in a single field, my work experience offers me a unique perspective into the wider picture of the space and equips me with the knowledge to explore different areas of technology.

2. What new skills or knowledge did you acquire here since joining?

Although I have a technical background from my studies, I was not given the opportunity to showcase my skills in a technical role before Invenics. My role has not only allowed me to demonstrate my technical skills, but also work with some of the most talented minds in the industry and learn a lot from them in the technology space. Although listing all skills that I have picked up would be too extensive, a few bits I have learned from scratch include technical writing, technological architecture and product lifecycles.

Work culture & Office

1. How would you describe the overall work / office environment, colleagues, and culture at Invenics?

Even though the company seems to be growing every day, it still feels like a tight-knit community. Everyone I interact with (from a new joiner to a lead partner) has a unique story and has been a pleasure getting to know over the course of my time at Invenics. From a career standpoint, I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience working at Invenics as it has provided me with opportunities I am very grateful for.

2. How would you describe the culture of leadership and management team?

The leadership team have played a significant role in my positive experience at Invenics. In addition to looking out for my well-being, they always support my professional growth and ambitions at the company. I have been incredibly grateful to them as they have shaped me into the employee I am now.

3. What are some of the company benefits which you enjoy the most – rom perks, wellness, team activities etc.?

Although Invenics takes good care of its employees through its benefits scheme, I enjoy the social outings the most since it reinforces the tight-knit community we have. In my short time at Invenics, we have gone hiking and paintballing which have been incredibly fun and bonding.

4. What would you share with anyone seeking a position at Invenics?

In contrast with other employers, Invenics offers many different opportunities to its employees. Since senior leadership are incredibly supportive of their employees’ ambitions and goals, each person’s experiences are ultimately dependent on themselves. Having worked in various organisations, I believe Invenics is very unique in this regard, and this is what makes the company special.
